Dear Readers,
I will be traveling to the English countryside this May on a tour designed just for introverts! I am so excited! We will be staying in an old abbey that has been converted into lodging, bed and breakfast style. If that doesn’t sound heavenly enough, there is also a day trip to Stone Henge planned. You could be part of this experience too! Space is limited and reservations need to be made by March 16, 2015. I would love to meet you there! Contact Lisa at Sacred Introvert Retreat Tours for more information and to make your reservation.

Introvert Thought Leaders to Join
Sacred Introvert Retreat Tour to England in May
(Los Angeles, CA) – Introvert thought leaders Tanja Gardner of Conscious Introvert Success and Brenda Knowles of space2live.net are joining the first ever “Sacred Introvert Retreat Tour” taking place May 1 – 10 to the “Kingdom of Wessex” region of England. The tour is geared towards introverts, a market many travel companies have overlooked, offering a gentle, introspective way for solo travelers to take part in a group setting.
“Lisa’s Sacred Introvert Retreat Tour sounded like a truly amazing opportunity to explore the sacred lands of Glastonbury in the company of people who really understand what it’s like to travel as an introvert,” Gardner said. “It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t come around often, so I wanted to take advantage of it while I could.”
Led by Sacred Introvert founder Lisa Avebury, a self-described “strong introvert,” the tour will focus on group shared experiences by visiting ancient landmarks (many off the beaten path) with lots of time to recharge in the beautiful, historical surroundings of Glastonbury.
“I have been to London but want to explore more of the English countryside. I wanted to meet and travel with others who understand my desire for meaningful conversation and experiences as well as my need for downtime after such experiences,” said Knowles. “Lisa is a fun, passionate and compassionate woman thus making her the perfect leader for this trip.”
Both Gardner and Knowles will offer talks at the retreat. “I can’t wait to speak with my fellow-trip mates about introversion and relationships,” Knowles said.
Avebury was inspired to create Sacred Introvert Space, a shared community blog, and Sacred Introvert Retreat Tours after seeing Susan Cain’s Ted Talk and reading her bestselling book “Quiet.”
“My hope is that introverts who visit and participate in what Sacred Introvert is offering will feel supported and uplifted by the knowledge that they too are just ‘introverted.’ And being just introverted is just fine,” she said.
Guests of The Sacred Introvert Retreat Tour will stay at the Abbey Retreat on the grounds of the 7th Century ruined Glastonbury Abbey. Located on 37 acres of parkland and large enough for each participant to have their own room, the Abbey Retreat is within walking distance of all of the town’s main attractions.
Excursions to places on and off the beaten path (Avebury, Stonehenge, Wells Cathedral, Bath, Uffington Castle, Stanton Drew, etc.) will be offered every other day. Days in between are reserved to recharge and relax in a way that feels right for each individual. Many optional informal opportunities for yoga, meditation, talks and walks will also be included throughout the Retreat Tour. “I would never want people to feel pressured to participate in anything, this is their time and they should spend it the way it feels right for them,” Avebury said.
The cost of the tour is $3,795 (not including air fare or ground travel) and includes all meals and beverages (non-alcoholic). Meals are freshly prepared each day in the Abbey’s kitchen with locally sourced ingredients and all dietary requests can be accommodated.

Will your talks be open to non-travelers? I’m an ex-pat (fellow Michigander..) living about an hour away from Glastonbury. I have loved reading your Friday posts for almost a year; I sometimes feel like you are speaking to me directly, as a single woman and mother. Thank you! It would be fantastic if there was an opportunity to meet up with the group, even if it is only to join you for an evening talk.
Also, any plans of posts about making connections as an introvert? I love deep meaningful connections.. but finding ways to put myself out there to find them are few and far between.. 🙂
I will refer you to Lisa at Sacred Introvert for the definitive answer. I am not sure how her tours handle drop-ins. I would love to meet you. I’m a former Michigander too!:) Thank you for your kind words. I’m so glad my writing resonates with you. I will give some thought to a post about making connections as an introvert. Thank you for the suggestion!!
Hi Beth, right now I don’t know what night the talks will be but if you’d like to be kept up to day go to SacredIntrovert.com and sign up for updates. You can also email me directly which would be a good idea. If we are able to open it up to non-travelers there will probably be a fee to cover what the Abbey Retreat would charge for a night in like that. And, if you’d like to have dinner we may be able to arrange that as well as it will be after evening meal event. Hope we can make it work for you.
What a great idea! I’ve been on a few group holidays and always find there’s at least one point where I just need to slope off and recharge. I am lucky enough to live within an hour of a lot of the tour destinations, love them all. Enjoy!
PS, thanks so much for your blog. I’ve shared a couple of posts with my wonderful, well meaning extrovert boyfriend and it’s really helped us both. 🙂
I’m so excited to travel with others who understand that need to ‘slope off and recharge’. 🙂 I am so happy my posts are enhancing your introvert/extrovert relationship. Go you! Thanks for commenting.
open to couples?
I believe so but I will refer you to Lisa at Sacred Introvert for the definitive answer. I know there are double occupancy rooms. I would love to see you there.:)
Hi Steven, yes! We have a only 2 double rooms currently available so if you are interested bear that in mind. We’d love to have you both on the inaugural tour! Cheers!
Yay! So looking forward to May!
Perfect Post!!
