But heres what youve got to do. Melissa: So do you incorporate your core values back into your recruiting process? Now is the period to escape the protection of loving parents that dont want you to get hurt. You have 4 years to get ready for the chaos at the university. Because as long as every kid I coach has an excuse for why they dont start or play or travel, they will never be able to change their place. For example, the first core value is "we don't whine." Their parents love them out of this diluted feeling that, Im going to build my kids self-esteem by telling them how wonderful they are when theyre not.
